You didn’t think we could go a year without Hitchcocktober, did you? Sadly, we are only doing one film this year due to well.. obvious reasons. BUT what a movie it is! This year’s film is Strangers on a Train, in our opinion one of Hitchcock’s finest See Farley Granger play the opposite character from last year’s Rope! See a tennis match! See a double murder plot! It’s all here, so join us!
Welcome to the conclusion of this year’s Hitchcocktober!
This week we talk about Hitchcock’s comedy The Trouble With Harry. In this until recently lost entry in the Hitchcock canon, a group of townsfolk must deal with a dead body that has shown up in the woods. Also notable about this film is it’s Hitchcock’s first collaboration with Bernard Herman, as well as having launched a few acting careers. So enjoy while we talk The Trouble With Harry!
We kick off this year’s celebration of The Master of Suspense with Rope, Hitchcock’s simulated single-take experiment! Starring Jimmy Stewart, this film revolves around a dinner party hosted just after a thrill murder in which the body in still hidden in the room (on purpose, of course). Join us as we talk one of Hitch’s lesser-known works!
Welcome again to our second and final Hitchcocktober cast for 2014!
This episode we continue the Jimmy Stewart/Hitchcock colaboration with Rear Window! A lot lighter than Vertigo (yet still containing murder), Rear Window is the greatest movie equivalent of a bottle episode that there ever was. Join us as we spy on the neighbors- er, praise this great film.
This time around, we’re focusing on the Jimmy Stewart/Hitchcock partnership with two of their best films! First up is the end of their collaboration with the now legendary Vertigo, one of Hitchcocks darkest films. Hope you enjoy!
Welcome to Part 2 of our first Hitchcocktober! On this All Hallows’ Eve, we bring you Psycho; Hitchcock’s classic thriller about the joy of showering in seedy motels. Austin and Albert discuss the merits of the film, the legacy it spawned, and the infamous shot-for-shot Gus Van Sant remake.
Get ready for a scream or two, because here’s Psycho!
Welcome to our very first Hitchcocktober! In what will be an annual theme, it’s an entire month’s worth of casts dedicated to one of (if notthe) greatest directors to ever live! In our first Hitchcocktober cast, we focus on one of our favorites, North by Northwest! Experience the thrill! The adventure! The too-hot-for-screen innuendos! Cary Grant at his funnest! Watch out for the cropduster as we delve into this masterwork by the master!
